I know my bf made a new panel for a pilot (long before i was in training or even liked airplanes). I’m in the process of updating my panel to enable giving instrument training to my kids.

My bf went to the hangar and used paper to trace it etc then made a cutout with the cnc machines using some plastic until it was correct then made the real thing using, i think, metal. Crawl under the panel (hence the comfy pillows). So, at least one cycle per flight, sometimes more.
