Aashto Turning Templates
Aashto Turning Templates - 1) buy a set of the plastic templates. That's the best i have been able to find. State dots may have turning templates in their cells/blocks libraries, but they will more than likely be the aashto standard design vehicles. This site is very tight, so i can't afford to be too conservative. It is my understanding that the turning templates in the aashto green book assume that the vehicle is starting the turn with it's wheels already turned to max angle. Has turning templates in their design manual.
If there are copyright issues with your product, then i'm not interested. That's the best i have been able to find. This site is very tight, so i can't afford to be too conservative. At the last company i worked for, i just digitized them and made a block to use at any scale. You might want to digitize them yourself.
I would think that if the driver stopped, then turned the wheel to the stops and procieded, that there would be a break in the line. I imagine it would have to be double articulated. Yes, check with the local fire marshal for sure. I seem to have lost my old acad turning templates. The longest standard design vehicle in the aashto green book is 73.3 ft long, with a wheel base of 67 ft. If i had a copy of them i would send them to you.

On all the turning templates i've seen, the circular arc transcribed by the outside front bumper is tangent to the approach. Does anybody have some acad format templates floating around for use? Right now i have forty feet between the face of my loading dock and curb.
