I have a weber california alnico 15 (paper cap) in one cab and a jbl d130 15 (aluminum) in the other, i think i prefer the weber for most applications, it's a bit more open. Played a mid level volume gig with the weber mass 100 for the first time and thought i’d share some thoughts now that i’ve used it at home, in a studio and played live. I bought weber alnico speakers on two separate occasions. Can anyone tell me if it would be a substantial upgrade in. I can't comment on the ramrods but i have had weber blue pup alnicos and now have both a blue pup ceramic and silver ten ceramic.

If you're wanting jazzy warmth and don't wander into the speaker breakup range, then the sig might. It's supposed to be a higher wattage blue, but i much prefer a blue (more mids). I want to be able to play louder with less breakup and more boom.
